The day a mystic became a dead pigeon's mama.
It is said 'No good deed ever goes unpunished'.
Diya* was pottering around the road, when she came across a rather sickly pigeon. Being a bleeding heart she didn't do the sensible thing. A} Walk past and hope a cat would give it a quick death. B} Give a little healing. She did C.
And what is C?
Bring the pigeon home. Go out and buy a big cage to keep it safe while it recovered. Divya* called us, we were driving, but what we did not tell her, was it would not last the night. Anyway 10.00 ish we called back only to be told that the pigeon had died.
As we looked at Diya* we told her, "I hope you've realised the spirit of the pigeon has entered into you." And added "You are now pregnant with a dead pigeon... Ha-ha".
Bloody hell, did Tarun actually tell Diya* this? {Um, yes, with his finest, Tarun really is most politic and diplomatic. The trouble is, as we leave the mundane life can get very hairy or feathery. Celia on the other hand is much gentler, explains less and focusses on doing.}
Anyway, Tarun told Diya*, that the pigeon would have to stay the night in the womb and a beautiful ritual at 10.37 am, would let the pigeon free.
What was that night like, having a pigeon spirit stirring in your abdomen? Beautiful? Ghastly? Scary? Now according to some rationalists there us no such thing as possession, or intertwining of spirits. But a fair number of people in asylums have very vivid hallucinations.
The other day, one of our finer healers Ms Shankar had called up to ask about one of her patients. "No, it was not black magic, but an old past life personality had lodged in her womb. A mind was lost in her mind".
"Why was this so disturbing to the patient?" Ms Shankar asked, "So what if a part of Paromita is wandering in Paromita?"
We decided to show her. With Ms Shankar's permission, we sent an energy entity to her. What was she feeling? After due hemming and hawing she burst out, "It feels like a boochy in my sex chakra." Precisely where we had sent her the energy entity, precisely what her patient was feeling.
Now, some will quiver in fear. Oh God, Tarun, you can send thoughts into people's bodies. Yes and No. Yes, another description for it is thought and prayer. No, because, if Ms Shankar hadn't given permission it would have been condiderably more difficult. The very nature, of what we do is based on interconnectivity, on oneness. And so if we send hate and hurt, we attract it, 3-15 times worse. The reason we can block black magicians 10 times more powerful than us has nothing to do with power. It has to do with the principle of goodness. The cosmic, the allness is by its very nature -- good -- in the sense all are part of it, so the goodness innate if tapped is more powerful than the ugliest spirit.
Anyway back to Diya*, she is an extremely powerful healer, and psychic. But by having a dead pigeon as child is more spiritually awakening than a mantra chanted for 7 years. For it says "I am mother of animals." In a small way, she is a Jr Pashupatinath.
In today's world, most are given a very sanitized idea of spirituality. 'Meditate and you will reach God. We are all one. The inner world is beautiful.'
Yes, the inner world is beautiful, but its freedoms are deeply challenging. And so we have to be grateful for the Diya*s of the world. They reveal what it is to care in a deathless world, to be the daughter of the divine.
